Pet Rehoming Assistance

Countryside can assist you with re-homing your pet in one of the possible ways:

Surrendering:

Countryside is a limited-intake, non-profit, no-kill shelter whose mission is to rescue abandoned and abused animals. We visit other shelters in the area looking for pets suitable for re-homing that have have run out of time, are pregnant or failing in a shelter enviorment. Over 75% of our pets are transferred from these shelters. The remaining animals at Countryside are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

 

The following things need to be completed before an animal can be an acceptable candidate for entry:

·         A temperament test is to be completed by a staff member of Countryside Rescue.

·         A current blood test and vaccinations dated within the last 30 days

          (can be completed after temperament test has been completed)

·         A surrender fee must be paid ( Offsets the cost of food / housing / care )

·         Must not be aggressive towards people or other dogs.

As a courtesy; animals are placed on Countryside Animal Rescues website under 'courtesy listings' to expand your audience and assist you in rehoming your animal yourself.

 

The animals listed are not a part of or associated with Countryside Animal Rescue, including CAR adoption and/or fostering programs. The information listed for each animal is provided by individual caregivers and is not generated or verified by CAR. CAR makes no representations related to these animals. As with all adoptions, CAR encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting these animals, including but not limited to temperament testing, consultation with a trainer, and consultation with a veterinarian.
